Bro. Terry Simmons Jr. is the Senior Pastor of First Landmark Baptist Church. Bro. Terry was saved at the age of 16 when he realized he was a lost sinner and needed a Savior. In March of 1998, Bro. Terry accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and made a profession of faith at Olive Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

In July 1999, Bro. Terry was burdened by something that was unexplainable and after seeking the will of God, He knew it was the Holy Spirit leading him to preach the gospel message. At the age of 17, at Budd Creek Baptist Camp in dorm number 3, he surrendered to gospel ministry. The follow Sunday at Olive Hill MBC, he preached his first sermon, “What a Sacrifice” from Genesis 22, which lasted a whole 3 minutes.

On August 1, 2009, Bro. Terry married his wife, Misti Little-Simmons.

God has blessed Bro. Terry with the opportunity to work as an Associate/Youth Pastor as well as a Senior Pastor. Bro. Terry was blessed to be the Associate/Youth Pastor of FLBC from October 31, 2003 till May 31, 2007. In July 2007, Bro. Terry accepted the call to be Senior Pastor of Park Missionary Baptist Church in Prescott, AR where he served faithfully. On May 13, 2009, Bro. Terry accepted the call of FLBC to become their Senior Pastor.

Bro. Terry is committed to FLBC and is looking forward to the church family of First Landmark pressing forward. The apostle Paul stated in Philippines 3:14, “I press toward the mark.” Today we are pressing toward that mark as well in the areas of life changing messages, being a loving church, and being a Progressive Baptist Church.

1. We press toward the future with a life changing message. Today, we have a message to tell each and every person that Jesus Christ is the only Savior. He is alive, preparing, and waiting to come back to receive his children. The Message is simple, Jesus our Savior, who was crucified on the cross, and rose in victory three days later, wants a relationship with each person. 1 Corinthians 6:20 states “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit which are God’s.

2. We press toward the future as a loving church. It is our goal to establish a warm and welcoming church where you are not just another visitor, but that you know our names and we know yours. We believe that FLBC is a place where “Friends become Family” and seek to glorify God in the body.

3. We press forward as a Progressive Baptist Church. As the Pastor of FLBC, I understand that we minister to a 21st century church and yet our message is still the same. Jesus died for the sins of the world and we should worship Him in spirit and truth. We believe that God’s Word can be applied to every situation, circumstance, and challenge. We may have different methods, but the Word of God never changes.
